Types of non-woven shopping bags and decomposition principles

Oct 07, 2021

Non-woven shopping bag is a kind of environmentally friendly shopping bag, and it is also the most commonly used shopping bag when we go to the supermarket to buy goods. The non-woven shopping bag has the characteristics of toughness, durability, beautiful appearance, and good air permeability. It can be reused and washed, and it can also play an advertising role when consumers use it for shopping.

Decomposition of non-woven shopping bags

Non-woven shopping bags are non-woven fabrics made of plastic. The commonly used non-woven fabric materials are polypropylene (abbreviated as PP) or polyethylene terephthalate (abbreviated as PET)

The chemical molecular structure of polyethylene is stable and difficult to decompose. It takes 300 years for plastic bags to be decomposed; while the chemical structure of polypropylene is not strong, the molecular chain can easily be broken, which can be effectively degraded and is non-toxic. Entering the next environmental cycle in the form of a non-woven shopping bag can be completely decomposed within 90 days.

In essence, polypropylene (PP) is a typical type of plastic, and the pollution to the environment after disposal is only 10% of that of plastic bags.

Non-woven handbags produced from different materials are also different, and consumers can choose the non-woven handbags they want according to actual needs.

Spunbond non-woven bags: After the polymer has been extruded and stretched to form continuous filaments, the filaments are laid into a web, and the web is then bonded by itself, thermally bonded, chemically bonded or mechanically reinforced. The T-shirt bag making machine turns the web into a non-woven fabric.
